Teaching science meets Doctor Who

In March, the Patterson School of Natural Sciences hosted an event for local fourth through sixth grade girls called Girls in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). The Saturday event was led by our class, Science for Elementary Teachers, and was an awesome chance for us to engage girls in the community and to help them feel empowered in male-dominated STEM fields.

Ouachita Baptist University recently received the credential of Gold Status from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) for its Department of Kinesiology and Leisure Studies’ participation and excellence in the organization’s Exercise Is Medicine® (EIM) program.

Ouachita hosted Dr. Melba Pattillo Beals of the Little Rock Nine for the Birkett Williams Lecture on April 2. Following her lecture, Beals signed books for attendees.

Ouachita will host Melba Pattillo Beals, a member of the Little Rock Nine, for a lecture on Tuesday, April 2, in Jones Performing Arts Center. Beals is an American journalist and author.

Finding a college home if you're undecided about your major

Road trip! My best friend and I decided to start our college search journey with a road trip to three different universities. Three days to visit three schools and, potentially, to find our future home for the next four years. Ouachita was the second school we visited on our trip.
